You may get the following error message when attempting to eject your DMS from the PhatNoise Software:
"PhatNoise Music Manager encountered some errors when trying to remove the PhatNoise DMS cartridge. If you are accessing the DMS or files on the DMS with applications other than the PhatNoise Music Manager, close those programs and try the Eject again.
This especially includes Norton Antivirus. If you have Norton or a similar application currently running, please close it now.
Other possibilities include Windows Explorer, My Computer, Notepad, and Norton Protected Recycle Bin."
Another application is accessing the DMS cartridge. Windows will not allow the PMM to eject the DMS when another application is accessing its information.
Close any applications viewing files on the DMS (Notepad, WordPad), anything looking at the contents of the DMS (Windows Explorer, My Computer, etc.), anything playing music (Winamp, Windows Media Player, MusicMatch) or anything scanning the DMS (Norton AntiVirus, Norton Recycle Bin, etc.) and try again.
If the DMS still will not eject, save without ejecting, and exit the PMM. Right click on one of the green arrow icons in the bottom right corner of your computer screen (system tray). Select "Safely remote device.
If it still will not work, shut down your computer. You may safely remove the DMS from the USB cradle once your computer is shut down.
Do not remove the DMS without properly ejecting it from the computer or shutting the computer down. Doing so may cause corruption and irreparable damage to the DMS.
NOTE: If you have Music Match installed on your computer, we have found a conflict with mim.exe, a Music Match process that scans your hard drives. To disable this:
1. Hit Cntrl+Alt+Delete
2. Click Task Manager
3. Click the Processes tab
4. Click "mim.exe"
5. Click the "End Process" button
6. Click "yes"
